They are proteins on viruses which help the virus in infecting the red blood cells and thus avoiding the immune response.
	They are the proteins on viruses which help the virus in adsorption to target cell resulting in infection of the target cell.
	They are not required in viral infection and antibodies directed against them do not inhibit viral infectivity.
	Viruses cause hemeagglutination of RBC's of their host species only.
